Dr. Ackley’s Message . . .
MIDDLE SCHOOLERS CAN DANCE!
Sounds like North Lake and Stone Bank Schools are partnering to bring back the 7-8 dances! Please thank Mrs. Tark for her encouragement to help get this fun event going again and get kids out on the dance floor!! The first dance will be hosted at Stone Bank School on Thursday, January 19th, and middle schoolers will receive further information when it is available. Meanwhile, parent chaperones are needed if you want to help out.
HATS FOR SALE & FOR FREE
There are North Lake School baseball hats for sale for any family member. The hats work well with a ponytail if you like that look. We also have many knit, colorful hats (not spirit wear) for babies and children which are free. Please stop by the office for your hat today. The NLS hats are $20.00 each and supplies are limited. Thank you to Miss Wartman, 1st grade teacher, for being a beautiful model.

CONCERT PHOTOS
Parents, we desperately need photos from the K-4 holiday concert. Empire was unable to be there so we have no record of this marvelous concert. Please email any and all photos to school@northlakeschool.org. Thank you again to Mr. Krieger and Mrs. Hoffman for two spectacular shows.
BUS LOCATOR APP
North Lake School continues to improve its student safety and security measures. Dousman Transport has partnered with MyView to provide real-time map-based bus location for your family’s piece of mind. MyView is an easy-to-use mobile app which allows parents to check on the school bus whenever they want. Please see the MyView attachments and follow the easy steps to set it up. Note: You will find your child’s unique NLS ID number in the Skyward student profile tile. If you need help with this tool, please contact Ms. Schuldenberg in the health room.
MATH TEAM
Mrs. Wagner is keeping the mathletes happy and planning competitions. The students will participate in a new program this year called Math Olympiads. Her math club is open to 7th and 8th graders and the first event is next week. Students, start to sharpen those algebraic skills while having fun with friends.
SERVING OUTSIDE OF NLS
Girl Scout Troop 6380, Mrs. Lesch’s Student Leadership Group, and Mrs. Lyons’ art classes created and collected special birthday cards for dear Delaney Krings of Pewaukee who will celebrate her 5th birthday today with over 1,000 birthday cards. Delaney was diagnosed with a terminal illness and her community wanted to make it her best birthday ever. Additional thanks to the Bennett family for delivering the cards to Shorewest Realty. Happy Birthday, Delaney!

Have a wonderful holiday and restful break. We hope to welcome some new families to NLS in January and thank you for spreading the word about our GREAT K-8! 🙂

Counseling Corner
Hello North Lake Families!
We have had some fun things to celebrate these past few weeks. Wonderful concerts, acts of kindness, and so much more. Here are a few celebrations that I wanted to share with you!
Leadership Group celebrated their hard work on many projects by decorating cookies on Pajama Day!

Each year North Lake nominates a student for the Lake Country Optimist Club’s “True Grit” award. This year our recipient is Harlow Millies. Harlow is a consistently kind and hard working presence in the classroom and in the hallways here at North Lake. She will be honored at an Optimist Club meeting on January 11th.

As always, please let me know if there are any ways that I can support your child!
Take care –
Jill Lesch

Congratulations to the AMSAC 7th Grade Girls Basketball Champions! Thank you to Coach Haase and Coach Millies for a great season.
