Dr. Ackley’s Message . . .
Thank you to everyone who attended our first community informational meeting last night. Please spread the word that there is a second meeting on Wednesday, March 15th, at 6:30 p.m. Parents, there is a plethora of information regarding this important referendum on the school website. Please encourage your neighbors to check it out and pass along any concerned citizen questions to me. I look forward to answering them in the FAQs section.
NEWS FROM THE HEALTH ROOM
Immunization Requirement Changes: Wisconsin Admin. Code ch. DHS 144, Immunization of Students, which outlines the immunization requirements for school entry, is now updated to better align with national routine vaccine recommendations. Please refer to Wisconsin Immunization Requirement Changes which can be found here. Nurse Gatzow works closely with Health Room Attendant Schuldenberg to coordinate your child’s medical care at school. More information will be coming this spring.

OPEN ENROLLMENT WINDOW
The open enrollment application period is open until April 28th. Word of mouth is our best advertisement. I am happy to give personal tours and set up shadow experiences for prospective families. We want to maintain our small classes and high standards for learning but also need to continually attract new students. For example, we will graduate 13 eighth graders who are open enrolled out of a class with 36 students. Being a small, rural, great K-8, it is essential that we welcome new students and fill our open seats.
Parent/teacher conferences will be rescheduled. More information will be coming after I get teacher and parent input.
Enjoy the long weekend and see you back on Tuesday.

Counseling Corner
Hello North Lake families!
One of the units that we do in guidance class is digital wellness. This is an increasingly relevant topic and the students always have a lot to share and discuss. We cover topics that include:
Media balance: How to balance electronics time with other important things in our
lives
Digital citizenship: How to use digital technology in a responsible and respectful way
Cyberbullying: Define cyberbullying and how to be an upstander
Digital safety: Privacy in the digital world; risks of giving out personal information
Here are a few of my favorite resources on this topic!
Common Sense Media: Provides reviews for games, books, movies, TV shows and podcasts. If your child is wanting to watch something, use an app or play a game, check it out here for recommendations about appropriateness or what to be aware of.
Screenagers: Provides so many parent resources centered around technology use.
As always, please let me know if there are any ways that I can support your child!
Take care-
