HAPPY 110TH BIRTHDAY

Mrs. Lyons and her 8th grade art students created a bold school portrait to commemorate North Lake’s 110th birthday.  Please look for the painting to be installed across from the conference room and next to the Bubbles relief.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE

Jenelle Blavat spoke to students during their lunch hours on Tuesday about the upcoming Blood Drive on Tuesday, May 13th.  The student body was encouraged to get their adults to sign up, and the class with the most donors will receive Culver’s custard for their class.

Junior Achievement

Hello North Lake Families,

Our students at North Lake start early in exploring academic and career planning.  This is a journey that evolves over time.  Planning doesn’t mean students need to have all the answers right now. We work to help your child build self-awareness and exposure to as many career options as possible.

How do we do this?

Grade

Activity

All grades

Career exploration, discussion of strengths and interests, connecting  school skills to career skills, Junior Achievement lessons delivered by parent volunteers

5th

Junior Achievement BizTown curriculum and field trip

6th-8th

Use of Xello (online platform) to document interests and do career exploration

Let me know if you’d like to join the fun for next year!  It’s a great opportunity to volunteer in your child’s classroom.

As always, let me know if there is anything I can do to support your child!
